Dress for a wedding champagne breakfast December 12, 2009
I’ve been invited to a champagne breakfast, the day after the actual wedding. This is what I would have loved to wear.

While I’m not into muscle-bound man as a rule, I must say the South African rugby-playing trio of Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield and John Smit really get my juices going. Victor Matfield is in a league of his own.
He just oozes sex appeal and looks like he should be a romantic French hero in some romcom.
- The Tallest Man I’ve ever met
- The Sharks’ Captain – John Smit
- The Divine Mr. Matfield
As for Bakkies Botha, the man as career in movies should he ever want one. He is TALL! I felt like a midget next to him. The Incredible Hulk has nothing on this dude.
New direction November 1, 2009
After years of just buying clothes just to look decent and presentable, I’ve finally been won over to the light! I’m in love with fabrics and what can be done with them. As a result, I’ve spent large amounts of money in the past few months buying fabrics.
The plan is to eventually start my own clothing line – I dare not call myself a designer – and start selling to all the women who always pay me compliments on my fashion style. I hope to do this with the help of experienced seamstresses and consulting designers.
I’ve ascertained that black women with a bust size 36DD or larger like myself struggle to find fashionable clothes that don’t look like sacks. You’re always told to look in the Plus Size ranges. I’m not Plus-sized!!! I’m an average 36 but I happen to be loaded on top, making finding nice tops and dresses that don’t display your assets like a butcher’s display fridge nearly impossible.
I’ll be posting pics of some of the stuff I’ve started making as soon as these are ready. If you know anyone that would be interested around Johannesburg, fitting my target market description above then please get them to leave me a message.

The Stages of the Work – Don Riso & Ross Hudson September 29, 2009
I’m a fan of the work by the Enneagram Institute and use their writings a lot in my life. Here’s something that has really struck a chord within me:
The Stages of the Work
If we were to really observe ourselves,
we would become aware of our habits.
If we were to become aware of our habits,
we would let go and relax.
If we were to let go and relax,
we would be aware of sensations.
If we were to be aware of sensations,
we would receive impressions.
If we were to receive impressions,
we would awaken to the moment.
If we were to awaken to the moment,
we would experience reality.
If we were to experience reality,
we would see that we are not our personality.
If we were to see that we are not our personality,
we would remember ourselves.
If we were to remember ourselves,
we would let go of our fear and attachments.
If we were to let go of our fear and attachments,
we would be touched by God.
If we were touched by God,
we would seek union with God.
If we were to seek union with God,
we would will what God wills.
If we were to will what God wills,
we would be transformed.
If we were transformed,
the world would be transformed.
If the world were transformed,
all would return to God.

The Nokia E71 September 22, 2009
I don’t normally go gaga over cellphones. I mean, they’re just phones after all.
That is until I got my new Nokia E71. Forget the fact that I’ve scratched it within 72 hours of receiving that box from the courier company (I love getting things at the office – makes me feel important).
I was trying to figure out what makes this phone so nice: it’s not the lightest around, it does whatever most cellphones do, and the buttons on the keypad might be a bit too small for my liking.
Today, I took it out and looked at it, finally realising what made it stand out for me.
It’s sleek, shiny and modern. Yes.
But it’s also curvy. I like things curvy. Curvy defines what I’m all about.
Thanks Nokia:-)

it’s funny how things turn out.
You, the creator of beeping sirens
and honking cars, yearn for the
solitude of the mountains.
You, a connoisseur of fast food,
now gaze at water that took
years to gather natural minerals
as it trickled its way down
from the Himalayas to within
your reach. And I, some of the purest water in the world,
stand here, trapped in a bottle.
Come, enjoy the irony. “
Opportunity dressed in revivalist gear September 16, 2009
You know when your thoughts and someone else’s intersect, and you come up with a wonderful way to bring lots of entrepreneurs together?
I’ve just been made aware of a wonderful opportunity to start a nationwide business BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, the other person would like me to become a born-again Christian because he likes to work with born-agains!
I have a meeting with him this Friday and I will be prepared and have all my numbers in a row. I hope he understands that spirituality is an individual thing and that God – in whatever form each of us believe in – has brought us together to do something bigger than us.
If not, then I guess I won’t be making millions from any provincial government like he has, and that’s OK with me.
